Sheet parts are rarely difficult on their own. What makes them difficult is everything they have to meet. A panel drawn in isolation fits the drawing and not the vehicle.
Designing them alongside the assembly they belong to settles that early. Holes line up with the part they mount to because both came from the same model, not because somebody measured twice and hoped.
Cutting and forming are driven from that model directly. The flat pattern is not redrawn by hand, so what is cut is what was designed.
Because the design and the machines are in one building, a change to a panel is a change to a file. There is no new order, no new supplier and no waiting for somebody else to fit it in.
Finished parts can be coated and assembled here as well, so they can leave as part of a complete item rather than as loose components with a drawing on top.
Sheet metal cutting and forming is rarely the whole job. The geometry usually arrives from scan to CAD modeling, the parts mount to tube that comes from CNC tube bending, and the finished assembly goes through powder coating and assembly before it leaves.
Sheet metal cutting for brackets, panels and enclosures is ordinary work that goes wrong in ordinary ways, almost always because the part was designed away from the thing it has to fit. Designing and cutting in the same place is what removes that.
